Tragbal
When you start your journey cruising smoothly out of Bandipora town, you will soon move onto the curvy roads leading up high. The snake bend climb will engulf you in the mesmerizing aerial views of Bandipora town and Wular Lake stretching to the horizon. Moving on the bumpy roads, showing the effect of melting snow, and after Passing by a dozen iron gates of the Indian Army, you will be welcomed by a hill station, Tragbal.
Razdan Pass
Razdan Pass, nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayan region, is a mountain pass of enchanting beauty and historical significance. Located in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, it serves as a vital link between the valleys of Kashmir and the Ladakh region. Peer Baba Dargah
Located in between Tragbal and Razdan Pass, this Dargah will welcome you with different shaded fluttering cloths tied on the poles. It also holds a beautiful green meadow in its course. From where you can see the snow-filled mountain of Harmukh and the elephant hills of Bandipora Town. The hawk-eye view of Wular Lake, Asia’s largest freshwater lake, renders unconscious.
Izmarg
Bagtore and Izmarg being in the lap of Neelam Valley and very close to LAC holds mesmerizing charm where nature and natural beauty are worth enjoying. The cattle herds around and the beekeepers add needed charm to these places. The symmetric pattern of farming on both sides of the road and forest around reminds the traveler of a foreign tourist destination.
Kishanganga HEP
The Kishanganga River- Roar of Gurez Valley comes to a halt with a standing concrete wall between two hills and filling the valley with the dam of blue color. Habba Khatoon Mountain
Habba Khatoon - the graceful, gigantic mountain, 13,000-foot, pyramid-shaped peak that rises over the town and is named after the eponymous peasant-queen-poetess, often referred to as ‘Nightingale of Kashmir’, who is said to have lived near the mountain’s base as a young woman. Habba Khatoon (Zoon), a woman who lived her entire life wandering the valleys of Kashmir in memory of her husband, Yusuf Shah Chak- King of Kashmir, who was captured by Mughal emperor Akbar so that the latter could acquire Kashmir Valley. It is in fact said that she still wanders around this mountain here in
Baba Dervish
Shrines of Baba Dervish and his brother Baba Razaq are two most prominent and sacred shrines in Gurez Valley. Thus giving a spiritual outlook to the valley. The shrine of Baba Dervish, hem in with walnut trees, is located near the hamlet of Fakirpora. From this shrine at a distance of about 150 meters shrine of Baba Razaq is located in the lap of Gochari under the shadows of pine trees. Both the shrines are located at a walking distance from Dawar town, which would usually take 8-10 min.
Dawar
The ancient capital of the Dards, Dawar, located on the left bank of the Kishenganga River is the central township and valley’s administrative center, where a small bazaar — with dry goods shops, produce sellers and a few “hair saloons” — is surrounded by houses and fields. Almost all the shops, houses and restaurants are made of large wooden planks with just the basics when it comes on amenities part.
